Active development

Building confidence through movement

Age-appropriate movement experiences can help students develop balance, coordination, strength, spatial awareness and the confidence to participate. The emphasis should remain on safe progress, positive habits and meaningful engagement.

What matters most

Values that guide participation

However students take part, the same values shape the experience — from a first movement session to a friendly game.

Participation

Students should feel encouraged to take part, practise and recognise their own progress.

Teamwork

Shared activity helps students communicate, cooperate and understand their responsibility to others.

Resilience

Physical challenges can help students respond to setbacks, persist with effort and learn from experience.

Fair play

Respect for teammates, opponents, officials and agreed rules should remain central to participation.

Participation & safety

Safe, age-appropriate participation

This is not a final health, safeguarding or medical policy. Verified requirements are published by the academy.

Competition

Competition with perspective

Where suitable competitive opportunities are available, the emphasis should remain on preparation, respectful conduct, teamwork and learning from the experience. Competition details must be confirmed before publication.

No membership in any league or inter-school competition is claimed.
